Silverstone set to remain home of British Grand Prix

With a deal to keep the British Grand Prix at Silverstone expected to be confirmed as early as Wednesday, Christian Horner, the Red Bull team principal, has lauded the decision as the correct move for Formula One.  “To lose the grand prix, and in particular to lose it from Silverstone, would be disastrous for the sport,” he said. F1 permeates the whole area.” As it is, the British Grand Prix barely breaks even, despite being the best attended single event in the country’s summer of sport, with 140,000 fans expected on race day. Liberty still remains interested in the concept of a grand prix on the streets of London to sit alongside Silverstone.
