Italian MP proposes to his girlfriend during parliament debate

Flavio Di Muro, 33, a member of the League party, had been participating in a debate on post-earthquake reconstruction when he produced a ring from beneath his seat and popped the question to his partner, Elisa De Leo. MP Stefania Pezzopane, however, asked the floor to congratulate the couple as Miss De Leo had in fact said yes to the proposal, the New York Times reported.   The couple has been together for six years, and had lived together in Ventimiglia, northern Italy, before Mr Di Muro was elected to the lower house in March last year.
