Can't stop snacking during lockdown? Here's Joe Wicks' advice

Joe Wicks, aka the Body Coach, took to Instagram this weekend to confess that his ordinarily ‘very disciplined’ approach to mealtimes has somewhat disappeared since the beginning of the coronavirus self-isolation period. In a video posted on his grid Sunday night, the PT said that he was taking some time to ‘reflect on this lockdown period’ and how his nutrition and training have changed in response. ‘I’ve just not stopped eating.’ Like so many of us, for whom ‘second lunch’ is now just another part of daily life, Wicks says he is turning to food ‘for no apparent reason other than just boredom and filling those hours in between meals’. He is keen to point out that there’s a valid reason for this sudden upturn in frequency of fridge trips - other than the new proximity, that is. ‘You’ve got more time to cook food, to prep meals, to train at home, to do what’s good for your body and your mind.’ In the video, Wicks leaves his followers with a challenge: to get active, somehow, every day this week. ‘Whether it’s a 10-minute walk, doing my PE workouts, going for a bike ride, or doing a Youtube yoga class – there’s so much good content out there.’ A post shared by Joe Wicks (@thebodycoach) on Apr 19, 2020 at 5:46am PDT While he maintains that he will still be snacking, Wicks is relying on this daily movement to lift his mood and stay positive in the face of the pandemic.
