Submarine captain fired for allowing crew to hold lockdown party

Ordinarily, such an incident would have merited a low level disciplinary sanction such as a stern word from a senior officer; a so-called slap on the wrist - known throughout the military as an 'interview without coffee'.  Having returned from a patrol thought to be of some weeks duration, the nuclear-powered boat and her crew were considered 'clean' and are being held in quarantine whilst the routine maintenance is conducted.
