Could Jeff Bezos become the world's first trillionaire?

The Bloomberg Billionaires Index has fallen 4 per cent.  With an estimated bn, Mr Bezos is still a long way off. Mr Bezos owns 11 per cent of Amazon, a bright spot in the despondent US economy. Shares are up 28 per cent since the start of the year.  Amazon has warned that coronavirus-related spending will crimp second-quarter profits. Along with Mr Bezos, the top five includes his ex-wife MacKenzie Scott Bezos, who became the company’s second-biggest individual shareholder following the couple’s divorce, Tesla boss Elon Musk, ex-Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer and Colin Huang, founder of Chinese e-commerce company Pinduoduo.
