England's bowlers to return to the nets from Monday

England’s bowlers will be the first cricketers to return to the nets this summer when preparations begin for the Test series against West Indies. The plan is for bowlers to work individually at their county ground in two short sessions per week as they gradually build up their workload after two months of inactivity following the cancellation of the tour to Sri Lanka in mid-March. The England & Wales Cricket Board sent them gym equipment and fitness plans so they could work out at home but nets were off limits until the Government eased lockdown restrictions on Monday. Further guidelines for elite sport will be issued by the Government on Wednesday but England believe they can start stepping up preparations from early next week.
