Where was Normal People filmed? Filming locations in Ireland, Italy and Sweden for the BBC adaptation, plus 5 more Ireland-based series

While the yet to be released Season Three is still in the works, fans of Channel 4’s hit comedy series Derry Girls can follow in the footsteps of its main characters Erin, Michelle, Clare and Orla around the streets of the walled city of Derry-Londonderry. Scenes were filmed in a number of locations along Northern Ireland’s coastline, including White Rocks Beach in Portrush and around Magheracross viewing point and the medieval ruins ofDunluce Castle, Co Antrim. Several places in Ireland have been used to stand for a “galaxy far away”, notably the stone beehive huts of Skellig Michael, the largest of the remote, Unesco World Heritage-listed early Christian monastic settlement off the coast of County Kerry.
