Everton did not ask for applause but deserve it after latest gesture

They've made decisions early to protect the likes of stewards and matchday staff, which they have taken plaudits for and rightly so. As a player you are selfish at times which is right, but if there's not a football club then you can't go out and do the job you love. We know they're paid a lot and rightly so because of the ability they have, that's what brought them here in the first place. But they have realised the club have given them the opportunity and showed a lot of faith in them, and they have repaid that. He won't want to be a squad player, sitting on the bench and just taking his money. If he moves on then good luck to him, hopefully he finds a club that will give him football and make him happy.
