Vidar Riseth believes Celtic is perfect place for Moi Elyounoussi as Norway pal makes transfer value prediction

Elyounoussi still has a couple of years left on his bumper deal at St Mary’s following his £16million move from Basel in 2018. It would take serious dosh to land the Norway star on a permanent deal but former Celt Riseth, below, is convinced his mate would be worth the outlay. “I speak with him a lot and we had a good chat when I was in Glasgow earlier this year. That is important for a player – that’s when you are at your best.” Celtic would need to stump up to land the winger but it wouldn’t take the £16m he commanded a few seasons ago. Celtic would be landing a quality player who could bag them more trophies – and his value would shoot up by getting the chance to produce the goods every week. He has the full package right now – he’s quick, strong and can score goals as well as create them for others – but I believe he can improve as well. “It’s not easy to play at a club like Celtic as there is a lot of pressure to win every single week. He loves playing in front of big crowds and the huge atmosphere.” Riseth was thrilled to see his fellow Norwegian flourish in Scotland once he got up to pace with the frantic Premiership. Elyounoussi had hit top gear but spent time out with an injury before returning just as the world was being put on hold with the pandemic. Celtic supporters got to see in flashes why Saints coughed up big dough for his services and Riseth is convinced the winger would have lit up the remainder of the season if the campaign hadn’t been curtailed. “He was scoring goals, creating chances and the fans were really enjoying watching him. “It will be a long pre-season now with the situation but it will give him and everyone else the chance to be fully ready for when the qualifiers come around.”
