The hip North Wales café bar serving French toast and halloumi for brunch

A couple of years ago I was asked to be a judge for the national sandwich awards, which involved visiting a few bakeries and cafes in North Wales. The venue has a cool chic industrial vibe with soft lighting with a counter at the back that highlights the many homemade cakes on offer. My wife orders the ‘HAUS’ Full breakfast which involves smashed avocado on sourdough toast with halloumi, bacon, free range poached eggs, grilled tomato, in herb oil.  It arrives well presented on a white rectangular dish and certainly looks the part. The eggs were perfectly poached and the on-trend sourdough bread with smashed avocado give a plush feel to proceedings as well as being healthier. Healthy is not what I could say about my choice of brioche French toast with maple syrup and bacon but by golly it tasted good. My wife played safe with a flat white sipped from a cup with the distinctive Haus logo on the side. I head to the till to part with my dough, and conclude with that you would have to be a sandwich short of a picnic not to enjoy your breakfast in the eloquent and European surroundings of Haus.
