Crunch time for Irish League season as UEFA outlines Euro format

No decision on how to finish the 2019/20 campaign has been made, but it is hoped there will be more clarity when clubs meet with NIFL chiefs on Thursday. Seven games remain in this season's Danske Bank Premiership, with clubs having voiced their determination to complete the campaign later in the year. That option looks increasingly unlikely after UEFA's announcement on Wednesday, while it has been reported that the Irish FA has no plans to extend the current league campaign into the autumn. A majority of clubs have already rejected the two official proposals on how to end the season - playing two more rounds of fixtures or allowing a mathematical model to decide the final league positions.
